Corporate aims and goals

These are the corporate aims Medinova Hospital works towards, the goal set against each aim, and the action plans that carry them out. They are reviewed by the hospital’s quality management system and updated as they are met.

1. Being the hospital of choice in our region

Goal: make health services easier to reach for everyone who needs them, and deliver them in suitable, adequate facilities.

  • Give patients more time, and run diagnosis and treatment carefully, so that people choose us.
  • Install patient information screens in the outpatient clinics.
  • Keep the wayfinding signage inside the hospital up to date.
  • Keep the wheelchair service under continuous review so that elderly and disabled patients reach the building easily.
  • Sustain the trust built by disciplined, consistent work across every process.
  • Continue our Baby-Friendly Hospital activities.
  • Increase the number of security cameras for a safer service.

2. Raising patient satisfaction

Goal: identify needs from patients’ views, suggestions and complaints.

  • Assess the notifications patients and relatives send through the website and take corrective and preventive action.
  • Treat suggestions and complaints as an opportunity to improve, and avoid repeating mistakes.
  • Analyse patient satisfaction survey results and act on them.
  • Answer and analyse every patient-rights complaint on time, so that weaknesses are found and corrected.

3. Raising employee satisfaction

Goal: identify needs from the views and suggestions of our staff.

  • Improve the comfort of staff rest rooms (refrigerator, television, sofa bed, WC and shower, lockers).
  • Assign staff to areas that match their certification, skills and preferences.
  • Hold events that build and embed the institutional culture.
  • Employ disabled staff in roles suited to their disability.
  • Assess staff notifications sent through the website and take corrective and preventive action.
  • Analyse employee satisfaction survey results and act on them.

4. Working within the law and ethical principles

Goal: act in accordance with legislation and regulations.

  • Carry out every process in the hospital in line with the relevant legislation, directives and regulations.

5. Closing infrastructure and equipment gaps

Goal: minimise infrastructure gaps so that quality, uninterrupted care can be delivered.

  • Carry out necessary repairs and alterations in line with the Health Quality Standards (SKS).
  • Perform repair and alteration work within the ministry’s published regulations and guides, with the permission and approval of the infection control committee.
  • Identify gaps in medical devices and equipment and plan how to close them.

6. Raising service quality by developing our staff

Goal: in-service training, certification, and placement in the right department according to ability.

  • Ensure staff work in roles matching their job description and qualifications (certificate, education, experience).
  • Identify training needs and give equal access to training.
  • Run training that improves communication and management skills.
  • Support and encourage participation in certification programmes.

7. Improving priority processes for quality and patient safety

Goal: keep patient safety at the highest level and act accordingly.

  • Apply the International Patient Safety Goals.
  • Improve clinical documentation.
  • Improve effective communication.
  • Develop the patient’s participation in treatment and the education process.
  • Improve admission and discharge processes as bed capacity increases.

8. Being an environmentally responsible hospital

Goal: regular training on separating waste at source, and adequate, suitable waste storage areas.

  • Across all our activities: recover recyclable waste, reduce the use of limited natural resources, prevent pollution from environmentally harmful waste, avoid harming living things, and take the measures needed not to pollute the environment.

9. Being a hospital that aims at continuous improvement

Goal: combine technological and sector change with quality to deliver care at the most appropriate cost; deliver sound services in patient and relative satisfaction, rights and safety; carry out our work on time, systematically, with as few errors as possible; improve continuously without compromising quality management system standards; be a hospital that values and protects patient privacy; lead in scientific research using modern technology; deliver services based on continuous development and measurement in both quality and quantity; raise service quality through continuous measurement and evaluation; increase the quality and efficiency of health services and make them sustainable.

  • Follow clinical indicators closely.
  • Follow patient satisfaction surveys properly.
  • Follow employee satisfaction surveys properly.
  • Sustain indicator management so that the target values set are reached.

10. Hand hygiene

Goal: apply the hospital’s hand hygiene policy and raise hand hygiene rates.

  • Track hand hygiene indicators and bring the rate up to the target values set.
