Pulmonology
Pulmonology in Aydın: asthma, COPD, sleep apnoea, chronic cough and respiratory infection.
Pulmonology deals with diseases of the lungs and airways, from asthma and COPD to sleep apnoea. Pulmonary function testing and imaging are carried out in the hospital.
Conditions we assess
- Shortness of breath, tiring quickly when climbing stairs
- Wheezing or a whistling sound in the chest
- Producing phlegm, or blood in the phlegm
- Chest pain and a stabbing sensation on deep breathing
- Waking at night with a cough
- Snoring and pauses in breathing during sleep (possible sleep apnoea)
- Smoking and the need for support in stopping
- Recurrent bronchitis and pneumonia
- Seasonal runny nose, sneezing and breathlessness (allergy)
A cough lasting more than three weeks, or blood in the phlegm, should always be assessed — particularly in smokers.
