Laboratory
Accredited laboratory in Aydın: biochemistry, haematology, hormone and microbiology testing, results in about three hours.
Our laboratory performs biochemistry, haematology, hormone, microbiology and serology testing. Most results are ready within about three hours, and emergency samples are processed 24 hours a day.
Preparing for a blood test
- Fasting: tests such as blood glucose and cholesterol usually require an 8-hour fast. You may drink water.
- Medicines: tell your doctor what you take; some tests require a dose to be delayed. Never stop a medicine without asking.
- Timing: some hormone tests must be taken at a particular time of day, or on a particular day of the menstrual cycle.
- Exercise: avoid strenuous physical activity before giving blood.
- Urine sample: the midstream of the first morning urine, collected into a sterile container after washing.
- Rest: sit quietly for a few minutes before your blood is taken.
A laboratory result alone does not make a diagnosis. A value outside the reference range does not necessarily mean disease; results have to be read together with your symptoms and examination findings by your doctor.
The laboratory does not work by appointment: after your consultation you may come straight to the blood-taking unit.
