Procedures in our angiography unit
- Selective coronary angiography, with ventriculography, aortography or bypass graft assessment where needed
- Balloon angioplasty and stent implantation, carried out in the same session where appropriate
- Direct measurement of a borderline narrowing with a pressure or Doppler wire
- Right and left heart catheterisation, cardiac output measurement and pulmonary vascular reactivity testing
- Carotid, renal, brachial and lower-limb angiography, angioplasty, atherectomy and stenting
- Diagnostic cardiac catheterisation for congenital heart disease, including in newborns and young children
Rhythm problems and devices
Palpitations, blackouts and a pulse that is too slow or too fast are questions about the heart's electrical system. We perform electrophysiology studies, which map an abnormal circuit and can then treat it by ablation, and we implant, replace and revise permanent pacemakers — including dual-chamber devices — and implantable defibrillators (ICDs). A temporary transvenous pacing wire can be placed when the need is urgent.
