Anaesthesiology & Reanimation

Anaesthesiology and reanimation at Medinova Hospital: pre-operative assessment, modern anaesthesia and 24-hour intensive care.

Our anaesthesiology and reanimation team looks after you before, during and after every operation, and runs the intensive care unit around the clock.

Before your operation

You will be seen in a pre-operative assessment: your medical history, current medicines, allergies and previous anaesthetic experiences are reviewed, and the necessary blood tests, ECG and other examinations are arranged. The anaesthetic technique — general, regional (spinal or epidural) or sedation — is chosen together with you and your surgeon.

During and after

  • Continuous monitoring of heart rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and depth of anaesthesia
  • Modern anaesthetic agents with a rapid, comfortable recovery
  • Post-operative pain management, including patient-controlled analgesia where appropriate
  • Recovery room care until you are fully awake and stable
  • Adult intensive care with 24-hour physician cover for patients who need close observation

Please tell us in advance about any regular medication (particularly blood thinners), chronic illness, dental prostheses or previous problems with anaesthesia, and follow the fasting instructions you are given.
